Inkaar (1977)

Haridas Choudhry lives a wealthy lifestyle in Bombay, India, along with his wife, Sonu, son, Guddu, and sister, Geeta. He had started his career as a lowly cobbler on a the corner of a busy street, but is now the owner of a shoe company. His associates want him to make shoes that wear out soon, but he refuses to do so, and would like to buy out National Shoes for 20 Lakh Rupees. He withdraws the money, but before he could undertake the transaction, Guddu gets kidnapped, and the demand from his abductors is for 20 Lakhs. Much to his relief he finds out that his servant's son, Bansi, has been mistakenly abducted in place of his son. Nevertheless he decides to pay the ransom, this time with the help of Inspector Amarnath Gill, his sister's estranged boyfriend, who he had turned down as he was not wealthy enough. The money is turned over to the kidnappers, two associates, Manmohan and Preeti, are arrested, Bansi is found and returned to his dad. But the money and the real abductor, Raj Singh, is still at large - and as long as he remains at large none of them can really be safe for he has a grudge to settle against Haridas, and the missing 20 Lakhs may result in the bankruptcy of Haridas' company, they may have to forfeit their family home, and Haridas may well face a jail sentence for embezzling this amount for personal gain.

Naram Garam (1981)

The story revolves around an old man, chachaji in search of a home after his house is repossesed by the village money-lender, and his young daughter, Kusum. Ramprasad is a poor young man in the employ of Bhavani Shankar a superstitious, middle aged widower. Ramprasad succeeds in securing a victory for Bhavani Shankar in a long running court case, which gives back Bhavani Shankar's family the possession of an ancestral house. When Ramprasad is assigned the responsibility of getting the house back in shape so that it can be re-occupied, chachaji and Kusum arrive there. When this comes to the knowledge of the estate manager, Gajanan Babu, he arrives furious and determined to oust the usurpers. However, he succumbs to the charms of Kusum and instead of ousting the old man and his daughter, presents a proposal of marriage. Horrified, Kusum and Ramprasad turn to Babua for help. He, in turn, is captivated by Kusum's beauty and presses his suit. Then Ramprasad turns to Bhavani Shankar, but he, too, declares he wants to marry Kusum.

Noorie 1979

Yusuf Fakir Mohammed lives in scenic Kashmir valley, and is madly in love with a lovely young woman named Noorie Nabi. Noorie also loves but would like him to speak to her father, Ghulam, about their marriage. Yusuf does muster up enough courage to talk to his prospective father-in-law, but comically ends up discussing everything else except marriage. After he leaves, Noorie subtly explains to her father, who is delighted to have Yusuf as his son-in-law. Ghulam accordingly starts preparation for their marriage. Before the marriage could take place, Ghulam is killed by a falling tree, and the marriage is postponed. Noorie is devastated, and inconsolable. Then family friends persuade both of them to get married, to which they agree. Yusuf is asked by his employer to attend to some work out of town for a couple of days. When Yusuf returns he finds out that Noorie is no longer alive as she committed suicide. In disbelief Yusuf rushes over to where Noorie reportedly committed suicide, but no one is able to locate her body. Yusuf is lead by Noorie's dog, Khairu, who seems to know what really happened to Noorie and her dad, to a conclusion that can only result in a violent confrontation.

Mera Naam Joker 1979

Raju is a joker, a clown. It is what he is and what he always shall be. As his life story unfolds in three chapters, from his school days to the circus to the streets, he must always make people laugh and be happy, no matter how unhappy he is within. Along the way, Raju loves and loses, but must always keep a smile on his face because, in the words of his circus manager, "The show must go on." Over six years in the making, "Mera Naam Joker" is Raj Kapoor's semi-autobiographical story of the life, love, and philosophy of an entertainer.

Shaan 1980

Shaan tells the story of DCP Shiv Kumar an honest, brave and upright police man. He live in the country with his wife, a daughter and two brothers Ravi and Vijay who are con men to the highest extent and would do anything to th rick people, there cunningness, one day got them into trouble with the law where there brother was forced to arrest them and feel no pity for them. However they were release a few days later since they were keeping a low profile in jail. Shiv Kumar decides to investigate against gangster and smuggler Shakal and his men where he was killed in his line of duty. After there brother's death Ravi and Vijay decides to mend there ways where they were persuade by marksman, circus master and an old enemy of Shiv, Rakesh, who decides to mend his ways and join hand with the two legendary to destroy Shakal who keeps a man-eating crocodile on an island far apart.

Taj Mahal (1963)

It was at the Meena Bazar that Shehzada Khurram first laid eyes on Arjuman Banu. When their eyes met it was love at first sight for both of them. When Queen Noor Jehan, one of the wives of Shahenshah Jehangir, finds out she is enraged, as she wants Khurram to get married to her daughter, Ladli Banu, even though Arjuman is her niece. She plots to hold Arjuman as a prisoner in her palace, but in vain; then she attempts to have Khurram sent away to battle - again in vain, as Khurram returns triumphant, and is named 'Shah Jehan'. Then she has her step-son, Saifuddin, arrange to kill Khurram - again in vain. Khurram gets stabbed but with Arjuman's help he recovers, returns home, but does not tell his father, fearing for his health. When Jehangir hears of Arjuman's assistance, he gladly arranges their marriage, while Saifuddin ends up marrying Ladli. Then Khurram is sent away to another kingdom, leaving Noor Jehan to plot against him. When Jehangir falls ill, she takes over the reins, has Khurram declared an intruder and sends her armies to bring him in or alternatively his two sons. Watch as events unfold, which will ultimately lead to the building of one of the seven wonders of the world - The Taj Mahal.

Tridev

Honest, diligent and brave Police Inspector Karan Saxena while carrying out his investigations against gangster and smuggler Bhujang is mysteriously framed and transfer to a remote area called Madhavpur. While residing there Karan sets to put things right and gets into confrontations with a bandit, Jai Singh who is good at heart and always ready to fight for the oppressed because his own dad, a brave Martyr has been killed by Bhujang, he too join with Karan to wreak vengeance against Bhujang. Ravi the son of the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Mathur joins Bhujang gang secretly wanting to get his own revenge from Bhujang. These three men Ravi, Karan and Jai manage to gather evidence against Bhujang and his gang and sets out on a dangerous road of crime, without the laws help in order to liberate the country from Bhujang / Bhairav Singh and his gang.

Woh 7 Din (1983)

Widower Dr. Anand (Naseeruddin Shah) gets re-married to a much younger girl, Maya, (Padmimi Kolhapure). He soon comes to know that the marriage was made without her consent. After he gains her confidence, he gets her to tell him who she really loves, and it is Prem Pratap Patialawala (Anil Kapoor), a street singer, self-styled musician. Dr. Anand then attempts to locate Prem Pratap, with a view to re-unite the lovers. Since Dr. Anand's mom is seriously ill, he asks Maya to remain his wife for about seven days, as he does not expect his mother to survive longer, to which Maya agrees. Dr. Anand, in the guise of a movie producer, hires Prem Pratap as his Music Director, and then eventually invites him to his house, so that the lovers may see each other again. Will Dr. Anand be successful in re-uniting Prem and Maya?

Gol Maal (1979)

Ram Prasad (Amol Palekar), a young chartered accountant and his sister Ratna, are orphans living in Bombay. One morning, an old family friend, Dr. Kedar, comes to visit him with information about a very well-paid job being advertised by Bhavani Shankar (Utpal Dutt), the owner of Urmila Trading Corporation, who happens to be Dr. Kedar's personal friend also. Bhavani approves of Ram Prasad Dashrath Prasad Sharma's moustache, oily hair and (short) kurta-pajama, and hires him. Bhavani Shankar is a bit nutty and feels young people should have no interests other than work, so when Ram Prasad wants to watch a hockey test, Ram Prasad tells him that his mother is sick to get leave. Of course, Bhavani goes to the same hockey test and spots Ram Prasad. When confronted at work, Ram Prasad tells him that he has a twin, who is good-for-nothing, who wears loud clothes and is clean-shaven and westernized. Turns out the twin knows music, so to rehabilitate him, Bhavani offers him a job teaching music to his daughter. Complications follow...

Amrapali (1966)

His hunger for conquest not satiated, even after repeated victories, Samrat Ajaatshatru of Magadh would like to continue on his winning spree, as the only unconquered city is that of Vaishali. His astrologers forewarn him; his Senapati cautions him that his army is tired and needs to rest; his very own mother refuses to let take part in any war - but he refuses to listen to anyone and hastens to war - which leads to subsequent defeat at the hands of the Vaishali army. Wounded, lost, and on the run from enemy soldiers, Ajaatshatru dons the guise of a Vaishali soldier and takes shelter with a woman named Amrapali. When he recovers both find that they are in love with each other. Ajaatshatru finds an ally in Senapati Badbadhra Singh and both start to plot against Vaishali - this time by reducing the number of soldiers, making them addicted to alcohol, poor training methods, and poor pay - thus demoralizing them, and paving the way for an easy victory for Magadh. When the Samrat of Vaishali finds out that Amrapali, who is now the Raj Nartaki (Princely Courtesan) and has been having an affair with the Samrat of Magadh - he sentences her to prison in a dungeon for the rest of her life. Ajaatshatru is enraged at this, he gathers together his armies, and storms the unsuspecting Vaishalis and virtually burns the city down, killing almost everyone in it. This accomplished, he rushes to free his beloved from the dungeons. He does set her free - but it is not the same Amrapali - this Amrapali is quite different and not at all thrilled to be in the presence of her conqueror lover.

Shakti (1982)

A scrupulously honest cop refuses kidnappers' demands at grave risk to the life of his son. The son is rescued but lives forever scarred by his father's willingness to sacrifice his own son for the sake of his principles. This works out to devastating effect when the son grows up to be a Mafia don, and his father is assigned the job of bringing him in.

Although orphaned at very young ages, Scriptwriter Amit and military pilot Shekhar are brothers and also very good friends. The latter is happily engaged to Shobha, while the former has just fallen in love with pretty, young Chandni. But tragedy strikes when Shekhar's plane is shot down in Kashmir. Amit feels it to be his obligation to leave the girl he loves and marry his brother's pregnant fiancée instead. But when, by an unexpected turn, Amit and the now also married Chandni meet again, their love for each other proves to be stronger than their marital vows.

Chalti Ka Naam gaadi 1958

The Sharma brothers consist of former boxer, Brijmohan; Jagmohan, an Electrical Engineer; and Manmohan, a Mechanic. The brothers operate a garage under the name of 'Mohan Brothers'. Brijmohan had been in love with wealthy Kamini, but she decided to marry someone, and since that day, a heartbroken Brijmohan hated all women and instructed his brothers not to get involved with them. Ten years later, Jagmohan and Manmohan meet and fall in love with wealthy Sheela and her friend, Renu respectively. They continue to meet on the sly so as not to incur their brother's wrath. Then Renu's marriage is arranged with Prakashchand, the brother of Raja Hardayal Singh. When Manmohan meets Prakashchand he recognizes him as a killer. Before he could expose him, Renu, Manmohan, and then subsequently Renu's dad, Kishinchand, are abducted. The motive for this abduction is to force Renu to marry Prakashchand so that Raja can inherit Kishinchand's wealth. Before that could happen, the tables are turned, and history is re-visited when help arrives from an unexpected source.

Yeh Vaada Raha (1982

Vikram Rai Bahadur is the only son of Mrs. Sharda, and sole heir to a vast business and estate. While vacationing with his artiste friend, Gogi, he meets a beautiful girl named Sunita and falls head over heels in love with her. He proposes marriage to her, and she accepts. They get married in a quiet temple ceremony and vow never to part with each other. Shortly thereafter their vehicle meets with an accident. While Gogi sustains minor injuries, Vikram is badly hurt and hospitalized, and Sunita is severely disfigured. Dr. Sahni and Dr. Mehra befriend Sunita and restore her disfigurement by plastic surgery. She quickly recovers, and cannot wait to give the good news to Vikram. Then she finds out that Vikram has given up on her, and is engaged to another beautiful, but wealthy young woman named Rita. Vikram is unable to recognize Sunita nor is interested in knowing her. Sunita decides to change her name to Kusum Mehra, and begins life anew. Will Vikram and Kusum's paths cross in the future, and if so, will they be able to remember their vows?
