LED Sectionals: Living Room Sofas + Built-In Mood Lighting

Coins, odds and ends .. these things we expect to find under the sofa cushions, but these days color-changing LEDs seem to be just as common as pocket change. Taken to the extreme the idea becomes particularly fascinating: what if we simply built all of our lighting into the home furniture and furnishings around us … would we even need normal light fixtures?

With a lit pattern for every occasion, these sectional sofas flip from one colorful display setting to the next at the push of a button. Display options include abstract modern patterns and contemporary floral prints while the colors can shift through the spectrum from simple white through subtle purple, bright blue and a seductive dark red. Modules can even display different designs and/or color schemes at the same time side by side.

Whether this convertible, color-changing functionality from Colico will work as a conversation piece of worry your potential date is another question entirely. Still, whether it is the next style trend or simply an experiment there is something to be said for literally weaving illumination into the fabrics of our everyday lives.

Amazing sculptures that look like they are in motion

Amazing sculptures that look like they are in motion (12) At first glance these objects look like they are in motion, almost like every object is falling down, especially the “strawberry blanket”. In reality they are actually natural materials, like feathers, fruits and flowers, attached to nylon threads. Sculptor Claire Morgan from Belfast is the creator of this magnificent art work. She has among other things achieved a first class degree in Sculpture from Northumbria University.

Since graduating she has pursued a career solely as a visual artist. She has exhibited internationally, with solo shows, residencies and commissions across the UK, as well as group exhibitions in Europe. At an early stage she developed a strong interest in the organic, in natural processes, and in the bodily connotations of natural materials. This formed the basis for her practice as an artist creating sculptural installations and continues to influence her work at present.

Sonam to play Tennis sensation Sania

Sonam Kapoor

Sania Mirza is in the news not only for her awaiting marriage but also for a movie based on her. Sonam Kapoor will play a character in Anees Bazmee’s romcom Thank You strikingly similar to Sania. The film’s shooting starts in Canada in mid-April.

Sonam plays a young, attractive tennis champ and falls in love with a guy, who is completely wrong for her, just like Sania, Pretty soon she realizes her mistake and turns back before it’s too late. Recently Sania calling off her engagement to Sohrab Mirza earlier this year before news of her impending marriage to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik hits the headlines.

“Sonam does pay a tennis champ, and Akshay Kumar plays a guy who’s seeing 30-35 girls at the same time, until he meets Sonam. Though he gives up flirting, he’s not particularly serious about Sonam too. It’s a funny take on courtship.” Director Anees Bazmee confirmed.

“Sonam plays a state-level tennis champ in Canada so she cannot afford to look amateurish while playing the game in my film. I don’t expect her to become a tennis champ in a week but she should look like a professional,” Bazmee added. Sonam will be trained by a tennis coach in Canada for her role.

Talking about the similarities between Sania Mirza and Sonam’s role, “I wouldn’t like to take any names but any girl playing a tennis player would have similarities to the name you mentioned.” Anees Bazmee said.
