Infolinks + Adsense: A profitable combination for your website or blog

It is a very common saying that “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket” and so is true for choosing online advertising networks. Every webmaster should try to maximize its online revenue either by adding new source to it or increase the income of existing source. Most of webmasters or bloggers use Google Adsense as their primary source of income besides affiliate revenue if any.

I was searching for some better ad network for my blogs which I can use along with Google adsense without affecting the adsense CTR and income, and I found one in the shape of Infolinks. I have been using Infolinks Ads in my blog for more than two weeks now. I must say it was a wise decision to join Infolinks ad network. I used some other networks as well like adbrite, bidvertiser etc but neither of them worked better than Infolinks.

I’ve been planning this Infolinks review eversince I joined but I was waiting to see the results. Although two weeks are not enough time to measure the actual results but so far I’ve been very satisfied with Infolinks and this review will hopefully help more bloggers and webmasters decide whether this advertising program is suitable for your online business or not.

The best part about Infolinks is that they don’t have any specific criteria to apply. Comparatively it has good click through rates and also their script is super fast.

It is also important to note that their ads can be shown along with Google Adsense which means that you can get more money without sacrificing any Adsense Income.

What is Infolinks?

It’s a in-text advertising program which usually shows as a double-underlined link.

Here’s how it works (from their FAQ):

Using our dynamic proprietary algorithm, Infolinks intelligently scans your web pages and converts carefully selected keywords into cost-per-click (CPC) In-Text ads. These specially formatted double underline hyperlinks lead to highly relevant advertiser content.

And each time a visitor clicks on the ad, the publisher gets paid. The Infolinks advertising can also be used together with Google Adsense and Chitika on the same page.

Customization

The ads are totally customizable and you can test various combos to see what works for you.

You can change underlining (single or double underline), the color of the in-text links, the format of the ad that shows up when someone holds the cursor over the links, how many ads you want to show on each page and even where on page you want the ads to start appearing and where to stop appearing.

Infolinks by default shows 12 ads per page and if you use Adsense or Chitika too, then I suggest you lower the number of in-text links per page so that your pages don’t scare your visitors away with too many ads.

I also suggest, that when you sign up with Infolinks, let them run for a week or so and then email their support asking for better optimization. Their team will check the theme of your site and optimize the ads.

Earnings and Payments

Infolinks offers several convenient ways for publishers to receive payments. You can choose your preferred method:
PayPal, Bank Wire, ACH (Only for U.S. bank accounts) or Get your Infolinks Prepaid Mastercard® (Powered by Payoneer).
You can apply to get an Infolinks Prepaid Debit MasterCard® to load your earnings and use it anywhere MasterCard® is accepted. Choosing this payment form will link you to a new page to register for your card. Once a cardholder, you can manage your account by simply logging onto the Payoneer website.

Payment is sent 45 days after the earnings period. Here’s a detailed explanation from the Infolinks:

Every month! At the end of each monthly payment period, Infolinks calculates your earnings for that month and issues your payment within 45 days of the end of the payment period, as a standard industry practice.

The only exception should occur if your monthly earnings are less than the Infolinks payment threshold. The minimum threshold is $50. But don’t worry – if your earnings are less than that threshold at the end of the month, these funds will be carried over to the next month.

If this Infolinks review hasn’t answered all your questions, read their FAQ or comments here to get your queries answered.

Most search engines provide a ‘Submit’ link (or something similar) to notify the search engine of your new blog, so those search engines will crawl it and include your pages in their results. It’s important to understand that simply submitting your blog to search engines doesn’t mean your pages will appear at the top of a Google search results screen, but at least your blog will be included and will have the chance of being picked up by a search engine.

It’s an easy way to get the link to your blog in front of many readers on other blogs. The hope is that some of those readers will click on the link to your blog on the other blogs’ blogrolls and find your content interesting and enjoyable turning them into loyal readers.

9. Syndicate Your Blog’s Content with an RSS Feed
Setting up an RSS feed button on your blog makes it easy for your loyal readers to not just read your blog but also know when you publish new content. Here is a good place to start http://www.earnbonus.com/feed-directories/

Links are one of the most powerful parts of your blog. Not only are links noticed by search engines, but they also act as a tap on the shoulder to other bloggers who can easily identify who is linking to their sites. Linking helps to get you noticed by other bloggers who are likely to investigate the sites that are linking to them. This may lead them to become new readers of your blog or to add links to your blog from theirs. You can take links to other blogs a step further by leaving a trackback on the other blog to let them know you’ve linked to them. Blogs that allow trackbacks will include a link back to your blog in the comments section of the post that you originally linked to. People do click on trackback links!

11. Tag Your Posts
It takes a few extra seconds to add tags to each of your blog posts, but it’s worth the time in terms of the additional traffic tags can drive to your blog. Tags (like links) are easily noticed by search engines. They’re also key to helping readers find your blog when they perform searches on popular blog search engines such as Technorati.

12. Remember Search Engine Optimization
When you write your blog posts and pages, remember to optimize your pages for search engines to find them. Include relevant keywords and links but don’t overload your posts with too many relevant keywords or completely irrelevant keywords. Doing so can be considered spamming and could have negative results such as your blog being removed from Google’s search entirely.

13. Link to other’s Article

Linking in and out helps a lot. Firstly, it helps you in providing proof about your thoughts as well as helps you get people link to you for providing a resourceful article.

14. Don’t Forget Images & Videos
Images don’t just make your blog look pretty, they also help people find you in search engine listings. People often use the image search options offered by Google, Yahoo! and other search engines, and naming your images with search engine optimization in mind can easily boost your traffic.

15. Consider Guest Blogging
Guest blogging can be done when you write a guest post on another blogger’s blog or when another blogger writes a guest post on your blog. Both methods are likely to increase traffic as your blog will be exposed to the other blogger’s audience. Many of the other blogger’s readers will visit your blog to see what you have to say.

16. Join Forums, Web Rings or Online Groups
Find online forums, web rings, groups or social networking sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn where you can share ideas and ask questions of like-minded individuals. Add a link to your blog in your signature line or profile, so each time you post on a forum or participate in another online network, you’re indirectly promoting your blog. Chances are many people will click on that link to learn more about you.

Make sure and add your blog url to your forum signature on any forums you are a member. This can be a powerful way to attract visitors especially if you have quality forum posts.

17. Promote Outside Your Blog
Promoting your blog shouldn’t stop when you step outside the blogosphere. Add your blog’s URL to your email signature and business cards. Talk about it in offline conversations. It’s important to get your name and your blog’s URL noticed offline, too.

18. Harness the Power of Comments
Commenting is a simple and essential tool to increase your blog’s traffic. First, respond to comments left on your blog to show your readers that you value their opinions and draw them into a two-way conversation. This will increase reader loyalty. Second, leave comments on other blogs to drive new traffic. Make sure you leave your blog’s URL in your comment, so you create a link back to your own blog. Many people will read the comments left on a blog post. If they read a particularly interesting comment, they are highly likely to click on the link to visit the commentor’s website. It’s important to make sure you leave meaningful comments that are likely to invite people to click on your link to read more.

19. Acknowledge good work

Find one of the top bloggers in your niche then write a good review post of them. Let them know and they will probably link back to you.

20. Be Patient

This last tip is the most important one, this tells you to be patient. Whatever you do, be it building a big house or making a million dollars, everything takes time, so does our online venture. Consider this, if you have stepped in to Internet Marketing, then you didn’t get involved by chance. It’s that even your destiny wants you to get in it. If you’re patient enough to cross the initial period of failure then your future would be full of colors of success.

Enjoy Social Bookmarking with Spice of Adsense Revenue Sharing

Not even a single webmaster / blogger can deny the importance of social bookmarking to increase the traffic on website or blog and they have been doing it in the past for simply traffic generation purpose only. Now they can do it for two purposes i.e Traffic Generation and Increasing the Adsense Revenue through Adsense Revenue Sharing program. There are hundreds of social bookmarking websites creeping in every now and then, apart from the old ones like Digg, StumbleUpon, Mixx, Reddit and the list goes on. But none of the above provides you this option.

SheToldMe is a new social bookmarking plus Adsense Revenue Sharing site which provide you an option to make more money online by doing the same old social bookmarking to increase traffic on your website or blog. But this time you will not only be making money with the traffic on your blog or website, you will also be making money when someone clicks an ad appearing next to your submitted contents at SheToldMe. The best part is that you can also make money by referring new users toSheToldMe.

When we talk about revenue sharing then there are few points which needs to be elaborated because their Adsense Revenue Sharing for Content needs a little explanation.

- For each link you submit to SheToldMe a page is created with the title of the link, the link, a description, a screenshot of the website hosting the link, a link to your main site (optional: only if you fill in the field in your user account)

- Up to 3 AdSense blocks are displayed on this page, if you fill in the AdSense Publisher ID in your account, an AdSense block with your ID will be located closest to the title of your link, at the best spot in terms of CTR, 100% of the time. If you don’t want to participate in the AdSense Revenue Sharing program and don’t fill in the field in your account, there will be no ads at this location.

However their 100% Adsense Revenue Sharing for Referrals are great which are explained below: -

When you refer a new member to SheToldMe with your referral link, you will have your AdSense ID displayed on every content pages this member submits, 100% of the time, for life! Even if this new member doesn’t have an AdSense account and submits content just to build links and bring traffic to his content!

I think it’s a promising website which has a lot of room for improvements. Such as, your bookmarks needs to be manually approved which of course takes time. But overall the concept of social bookmarking with Adsense Revenue sharing is more than enough for you guys to join and promote your blog or website and make more money through referrals and Adsense Revenue Sharing.

How to handle “Invalid Click” warning notification from Google Adsense

Google Adsense users are increasing second by second globally because it is quite tempting program to make more money online with complete freedom of work. A lot of newbies tend to involve in invalid click activities at the expense of “Forever Ban” from Google Adsense whereas a lot of genuine publishers get clickbombed by some other individual or groups just because of jealousy or some personal grudge and face difficult situation when big G treats them the same way.

Here we are not talking about the “Culprits” the one who involved in deliberate Click Fraud or invalid click activity but we are talking about helping those genuine publishers who face problems due to any other reason.

Here is the actual email from Google Adsense which some genuine publisher sent me via email: -

Hello,

It has come to our attention that invalid clicks have been generated on
your Google ads, posing a financial risk to our AdWords advertisers.
Please note that any activity that may artificially inflate an
advertiser’s costs or a publisher’s earnings is strictly prohibited by our
program policies.

We understand that you may want more information about the activity we
detected. However, because we have a need to protect our proprietary
detection systems, we’re unable to provide our publishers with any details
about their account activity, including any web pages or users that may
have been involved. Thank you for your understanding.

We recommend reviewing these references to learn more about invalid click
activity and other activities that could endanger your account standing:

http://www.google.com/adsense/terms

http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/topic.py?topic=8426

Please note that because we credit advertisers for any invalid activity we
detect, we may adjust your account earnings for any days during which
invalid clicks occurred.

If you were clicking your ads out of interest or to see who was
advertising on your site, please note that clicking on your own ads for
any reason is strictly prohibited by our program policies. Instead, we
suggest using the AdSense preview tool as an alternative. This tool will
allow you to check the destination of ads on your page without the risk of
generating invalid clicks. For more information, please visit our Help
Center at https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/topic.py?topic=160.

Lastly, please note that if we continue to detect invalid clicks on your
Google ads, we may take further action on your account in order to protect
our advertisers’ interests. Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

The above email is just the first warning which means Google Adsense will ban the publisher if they found any suspicious activities on their adsense account.

If you get the above email, what should you do?

A. Ignore this email from Google and keep working the same way that you were doing.

OR

B. Take this email seriously and reply to Google Adsense professionally.

Well! If you choose option A then Google might think that you are a non-serious just another publisher and Google might ban you forever if they found anything against you, next time. Option B is much better because a professional reply to Google will make them think that you are a serious publishers and there must be some genuine issue other than Click Fraud with your account.

Here is a template reply to above email which you can modify according to your situation, please do not simply copy paste and email. Try to use facts and figures if you are using google Analytics and other tools with this email.

Dear Adsense Support,

First, thank you very much for allowing me to participate in Google AdSense program. It allowed me to see the features that AdSense provides and the convenience it is for publishers to monetize their sites.

I am emailing you in response to a notification email I received dated ________ regarding some “invalid click activity” on my AdSense account.

I would like to make some points clear.

1. I am not aware that invalid clicks has been made on AdSense ads that were put on my site ______________.

2. I have never personally clicked on any of the AdSense ads that were put on my site, and I am perfectly aware of the terms as agreed upon prior to completing my application with AdSense.

3. I am using a shared computer with the rest of my family who are also internet users thus might explain sharing the same IP address with them.

4. I have not campaigned or asked anybody to click on any of the ads that were placed on my site. If you can notice on the ad demographics on my account, the clicks were very few and far between.

5. I did not even participate or click on ads from other AdSense Publishers.

I believe that despite me being new to the AdSense service, I have been honest to this profession. I have expected Google AdSense to be a great service and I have done my very best to adhere to the agreements and rules set upon by Google for the said service.

This is my first try to monetize my own site despite the years it has been up and I had put my trust on Google’s AdSense service to be able to provide the monetizing service that I could look up to.

Surely this might be negligible, considering that the ad revenue from the ads at my site only earned _____ cents in a span of almost _______. However, even that is proof that my site did not engage in unscrupulous “invalid click activity”.

The email I received from Google regarding my AdSense account involved in invalid click activity might also led me to believe that my AdSense account will have no chance of being restored if you ban my account forever if some one (competitor) deliberately wants to through me out of his competition by click bombing on my site.

I am sure that Google Adsense understands this situation and treats that “Invalid Click Activity” as a conspiracy to my legitimate business and I am very confident that my account should be cleared from such false claims.

Sincerely,

Hope it helps!

Get Rid of Low CPC Ads, MFA Sites & Increase your Google Adsense earning Big Time!!

A lot of people understand the importance of High Paying Keywords and they effectively use it but they still fail to make more money from Google Adsense because Low Cost Per Click (CPC) Ads and Made for Adsense (MFA) Sites seriously decrease their Adsense Income potential.

What are Made for Adsense (MFA) Sites?

There are a lot of advertisers who join the Google AdWords in order to increase their web traffic and earn some easy money. Therefore the ads of such websites or blogs are extremely low in cost. Such websites’ ads are called MFA (Made for AdSense). Usually, these websites have very little information in them and just shows a couple of Google ads in them and want to earn with it. So, if a visitor of your website clicks on a MFA ad, you will get a very very low price (Low Cost Per click) for this ad and your visitor will not find any information on that ad’s website.

Google Adsense provides you with the option to block any specific ads appearing on your website through Competitive Ads Filer. A lot of publishers only complain for decreasing Google Adsense income but they do not use the Competitive Ads Filter option to remedy this problem. For example if your website is related to web designing then you can block shoping.com to display its ads, because it is not relavent to your website’s content.

Just follow these steps to generate blacklisted MFA Sites and Low Cost Per Click Ads

Step 1

Register with AdsBlackList, it’s free!

AdsBlackList is a site where you can generate blacklisted sites (MFA and Low Cost ads) that have been blacklisted by AdsBlackList member.

Step 2

Go to “My Account” at the left sidebar, click “Add New Domain” then add your blog or website and your keywords.

Step 3

Now Click on “Generate Filter List” option.

Step 4

You may see your domain at the Available Domains tab, drag it and drop it on “Keywords from selected domains” tab. Click on the Checkbox of the “MFA” or “LCPC” then click “Submit”. You will see a list of 200 MFA/Low Cost Per Click blacklisted sites.

Step 5

Block These Sites In your Adsense Account

Open your Adsense account, go “Adsense Setup” and choose “Competitive Ad Filter”. Scroll down and you’ll see this “Adsense for Content filters”. Simply copy the 200 MFA blacklisted sites and paste them into the box and click “Save Changes”.

It is not 100% guaranteed that you will get good CPC (Cost per Click) for all ads, because you have just inserted 200 MFA and Low CPC blacklisted sites and you know there are plenty of these MFA and Low CPC sites out there, but at least you will be reduce the percentage of getting Adsense ads from useless MFA sites. After following these steps, you might need to sit down and analyze your result, you should be able to make more money with Adsense.

Hope it Helps!!

Google’s Blogger adds Amazon Associates as Integrated Monetizing Option

Blogger is the most widely used blog network in the world because it provides the easiest blogging platform with integrated adsense monetizing option. It is even got better when they recently added Amazon Associates as another integrated monetizing option along with several other improvements in their content management interface.

It is certainly a very good news for all users of blogger.com because now they can easily add another income stream of Amazon Associate by advertising Amazon’s affiliated products at their blogs and making handsome commissions on sales.

I had applied for Amazon Associates affiliate program and I got the approval too. But, honestly speaking I was finding it difficult to select relevant product to display on my different blog which was quite time consuming and I just forget to add it while I was writing a blog post. I have just checked it right now I found no trouble whatsoever in integrating my Amazon Associate ID and finding a relevant products on couple of my blogs. Infact, I’ve searched the relevant product while I was writing and added into my blog post easily (added the Amazon’s product link to this blog as well ;) .

Blogger has been working to improve monetizing option by adding a “Monetize” tab in the Blogger content management system followed by AdSense for Feeds in order to help their users generate revenue from the distribution of blog via RSS and Atom.

The third edition is the direct integration with Amazon Associates to search Amazon’s product catalog and add links to products that earn you commissions when your readers buy products you recommend.

With this feature, you can search Amazon directly from the Blogger editor and add pictures and links to Amazon products right into your posts. Your readers will earn you commissions whenever they buy the products you recommend, and if you don’t already have an Amazon Associates account, you can sign up for one for free without leaving Blogger.

If you’ve ever written a blog post about a book, recommended a gadget, or reviewed a toy you bought for your kids, you’ve likely gone through the process of drafting the post, opening up a separate window to go to find a site that sells the product, then going back to Blogger to paste the link to the product into the post editor.

Starting today, you can search the Amazon product catalog without leaving the Blogger interface and insert links to the products you find into your posts. Not only is the process of linking to products more efficient, but Amazon makes it easy for you to earn money whenever your readers actually buy the products you write about. This is known as an “affiliate program”, and it’s designed to let you recommend products you like to your audience — if they buy the product, you’ll earn a commission on that purchase.

To get started, click on the Monetize tab for your blog and click “Amazon Associates”. Walk through the setup wizard, and add the Product Finder once you’re done.

Now for the fun part: when you are writing a post on Blogger, you’ll see an Amazon gadget to the right of your post editor (the “Product Finder”). You can search the Amazon product catalog from within Blogger — type in the name of the product you are writing about, and insert a link to the product, an image of the product, or an iframe containing the image, price details and a “buy it now” button. Every link that’s created contains your unique Associates ID, ensuring that Amazon will credit you for any purchases that result from readers clicking the link on your blog.

If you’re an existing Amazon Associate, completing this setup simply makes the Product Finder available on Blogger for you — you continue to earn the same referral rate from Amazon. New Associates receive the same referral rate from Amazon that they would have received if they signed up directly. If you’re not interested in earning a referral, you can still install the Product Finder: from the “Amazon Associates” page under the Monetize tab, click “I’ll do this later — show me more Amazon options” and then click “Add the Product Finder” button.

A quick note about trust: affiliate programs work well when readers trust you. You should avoid promoting products simply because of the referral fee you might earn — readers may lose some of that trust if they sense your posts exist solely to make you money. You may also want to disclose to your readers that you will earn a commission on their purchase — some readers even prefer knowing that you benefit from their business.

There’s more information about this integration at Amazon.com, and the Amazon Associates blog has some more details. This integration is the result of months of collaboration between the engineers at both companies, and we’re very excited to share the results of this collaboration with you.

Source : http://buzz.blogger.com/2009/12/blogger-integrates-with-amazon.html

I am very much sure for those bloggers who want to make money from a Blogger blog this news is great because the shopping season is on and it can help you monetize your blog to its full potential.

It’s also an interesting news that two online giants – Google and Amazon – are teaming up to empower bloggers with more money making options. Like this one
