The Largest Pair of Jeans Ever

 Guinness World Record for sewing the largest pair of blue jeans celebrated on Friday, one day after cranes buckled while trying to lift the giant 7.5-tonne pants.

Workers laid the pair on the ground and put big balloons inside the legs to show off the size of the jeans, which are 141 feet (43 m) tall and 98 feet (30 m) wide.

They have pockets, red buttons and a brown belt.

On Thursday, disillusioned crane operators gave up trying to lift the pants with three machines and went looking for a fourth. They wanted to lift the pants to display them. On Friday, workers had to scrap the idea of hoisting the jeans altogether.

The Colombian city of Medellin currently holds the record for the world’s largest pair of jeans, which is measured by size, according to the clothing company that organized the event in San Juan de Lurigancho, a district full of textile plants east of the Peru’s capital, Lima.

The previous Guinness record hold is Colombian pair and it were 114 feet (35 m) tall by 82 feet (25 m) wide.

The company’s chief executive said material from the pants will be cut to make backpacks for area school children.

The Longest Underwater Tunnel in the World

This strange-looking beast in tokyo is an artificial island and tourist attraction by the name of umihotaru (translation: marine firefly) which forms part of the tokyo bay aqualine, a bridge-tunnel that connects kawasaki and kisarazu.

 Cars can either drive over the 4.4km bridge to the island and park in order to admire the view or drive straight through to the tunnel entrance where they will be taken under the water for 9.5km until they reach kawasaki.

The tunnel is apparently the longest underwater tunnel in the world.

A Cricket match takes long time to play to begin with but test cricket is even longer with most test matches scheduled to last 5 days.

Back in the time when your grandfather walked to school, uphill both ways in 3 feet of snow, test matches were scheduled to play to their conclusion.

The longest cricket match was between South Africa and England in Durban, South Africa and began on March 03, 1939 and continued till March 14, 1939, although they did not play on the 5th, 11th or 12th.

Unfortunately England had to catch a boat home on the 15th so after play on the 14th the match was called a draw and both teams went home.

The world's longest cricket match spanned 43 hours and 16 minutes of playing time in which 1,981 runs were scored.

Watusi Bull With Largest Horn

Frankly I can’t imagine how hard it must be for this fella to keep his head up with these things. This is Lurch, Lurch was born in Missouri, USA and is currently known as the bull with the largest horn in the world, the proud bearer of the world’s largest horns. Lurch is a Watusi bull living in an Animal shelter, whose horns measure 92.25 cm and weigh more than 100 pounds each. He’s quite the attraction in his home state and he’s favorite pass-time is acting as bodyguard for a crippled horse that’s being harassed by fellow horses. Fitting that the world's longest man have the world's longest feet. Robert Pershing Wadlow's feet measured 18 1/2 inches and he wore size 37 shoes.

The person with the longest feet still living also holds the title as the actor with the longest feet.

Matthew McGrory, who played a role as an alien in 'Men in Black II' among other movies, although only slightly above 7 feet, takes a shoe size of 29 1/2. His feet measure 17" and 17 1/2"

Sadly Matthew McGrory passed away Tuesday August 09 2005.

WORLD'S LARGEST FROG

The world's largest frog has a fitting name; the Goliath frog.

Goliath frogs call the rivers of Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea home where they spend their days eating insects, crustaceans, fish, and other amphibians.

A Goliath frog grows up to 13 inches in body length and with outstretched legs can reach over 2 1/2 feet in length.

If you're thinking  frog legs', the Goliath frog weighs about 7 pounds so one frog should suffice as a meal but you'd better be quick when catching them as they can jump up to 10 feet in a single bound.

The Toxorhynchites speciosus can be founds along the coasts of Australia but luckily for Australians these giant mosquitoes prefer to feed on nectar.

The Autostadt is a visitor attraction adjacent to the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg, Germany, with a prime focus on automobiles. It features a museum, feature pavilions for the principal automobile brands in the Volkswagen Group, a customer center where German customers can pick up new cars, and take a tour through the enormous factory, a guide to the evolution of roads, and cinema in a large sphere. It is also home to the largest glass doors in the world and the longest printed line. The line starts from outside Wolfsburg and travels through Autostadt to a point on a farm. It is about 4 miles (6.4 km) long.

Biggest attraction, of course, are the towers. There are two 60 meter/200 ft tall glass silos used as storage for new Volkswagens. The two towers are connected to the Volkswagen factory by a 700 metre underground tunnel. When cars arrive at the towers they are carried up at a speed of 1.5 metres per second. The render for the Autostadt shows 6 towers. When purchasing a car from Volkswagen (the main brand only, not the sub-brands) in select European countries, it is optional if the customer wants it delivered to the dealership where it was bought or if the customer wants to travel to Autostadt to pick it up. If the latter is chosen, the Autostadt supplies the customer with free entrance, meal tickets and a variety of events building up to the point where the customer can follow on screen as the automatic elevator picks up the selected car in one of the silos. The car is then transported out to the customer without having driven a single meter, and the odometer is thus on “0″.

There is also a room with interactive devices which provide information on the design of cars using Audi as an example. Computer software allows visitors to design their own cars using features from Audi cars and send them to an email address and get them printed at the printer located in the center of the room.
